About Us

Chipbase Article

Chipbase was founded in January 1992. The aim was to supply the retail market as well as the small cabinet maker, shop fitter and DIY enthusiast. The company was sold in 2006 to ILIAD, which focuses on the sourcing, distributing, and retailing of a comprehensive range of building materials. Chipbase falls under the boards cluster within the specialised building materials division, this also includes Citiwood.

Each Chipbase branch has Altendorf panel saws, Ima edge banders and drill presses which we us in the cutting, edging and drilling of all board products. We also offer bulk board cutting with the aid of beam saws situated at two of our branches. We carry an extensive range of Melamine and Veneer boards which can be seen at our businesses throughout the Western Cape and Johannesburg. We also have a large selection of cabinet hardware. Our range of 28mm postformed tops, manufactured by our inhouse company Topform, are also on display with new colours being added regularly. We have recently introduced HIGH GLOSS tops which have been a huge success.

Chipbase offers cutting and edging services, which opens up huge opportunities for individuals wanting to start their own businesses without having to lay out the capital of buying machinery and finding premises. We also have an efficient delivery service out of each branch.
